The illustration collection of different cities across Alabama would not be complete without the inclusion of Auburn and Tuscaloosa, beloved homes to Auburn University and The University of Alabama. In this state, it's not about both, but one or the other - you must pick a side. Here is Auburn, touted as "The Loveliest Village on the Plains," from Oliver Goldsmith's poem The Deserted Village. Aubie and War Eagle reign supreme, along with orange and blue, in this quaint town. Toomer's Drugs, an Auburn institution since 1896, anchors the legendary Toomer's Corner and serves up its famous lemonade. Momma G's has been crafting its distinct steamed sammies since the 1970s.
